Privacy Policy for Ottame
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Ottame ("the App") is a personal finance and FIRE-planning app. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.
The short version
Ottame does not require an account, does not run its own servers to store your data, and does not sell or share your personal financial information with anyone. Your financial data — accounts, transactions, balances, holdings — stays on your device.
Data storage
- All financial data you enter is stored locally on your device.
- If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced between your own devices using Apple's iCloud service, under your own Apple ID. We do not have access to this data — it never passes through servers we operate.
- You can export or delete your data at any time from within the App.
Data we do send off your device
Two limited exceptions, neither of which includes your personal financial data:
- Stock and market prices: if you track investments, the App sends only a stock ticker symbol (e.g. "AAPL") to a market-data provider to fetch current prices. No account balances, holdings sizes, or personal identifiers are sent with this request.
- Purchases: if you buy the paid version of the App, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment details.
What we don't do
- We don't require you to create an account.
- We don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
Your rights
Since your data is stored on your own device (and optionally your own iCloud), you are always in control of it. Deleting the App, or using its built-in data export/delete tools, removes your data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
